Scenes around Quito

At the market.  The people love to eat pork rind.  Anyone hungry?

Some fresh fruit and veggies for sale at the Santa Clara Market.  We bought a big bunch of bananas and a bag of lemons for $1.00 each.
A very old Catholic church in Old Town Quito.  The inside is all gold.

The presidential palace in Old Town.

Another Catholic church in Old Town.  There are about  8 or more churches in just a few blocks of each other.

A Catholic church close to the Church building where we work.

Inside the church.  Very beautiful architecture.

Buying scarves from some women from Otovallo. They are wearing their native costumes and always wear little black hats. From left to right.  Sister Williamson, Sister Walton, me, Jan (sister Walton's daughter) and Sister Naylor.

I bought 2 scarves from them for $1.50 each.

The town square at night in Old Town.

We went out for dinner one night with the senior missionaries and this was our fancy dessert.  The flowers were painted on with food paint.  Very fancy!!
